Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Need to figure out what is causing my abdominal pain. The pain is so severe it is crippling. I find some relief sometimes complete relief after a bowel movement. This happens infrequently, maybe once a month on average. It s been going on for years. My family doctor has sent me for bowel Xrays which appeared normal. I also have painful intercourse. Some positions are more painful than others. This is interfering in my quality of life, especially my sex life as I tend to avoid it altogether. Would really like to resolve this issue. Been suffering with this for many years.

How Can severe Abdominal Pain Be Treated?
Hello, Most probably it will be due to intestinal colic. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
